Despite never having visited, New York City has always felt to me like the very heart and soul of America. It serves as the backdrop for countless films — including The Cowboy Way, embarrassingly one of my favorites — and is so often portrayed as the embodiment of American ideals: freedom, liberty, equality, justice, and opportunity. A place where anyone, from anywhere, can arrive and build a life for themselves through hard work and perseverance.
