Fieldscapes
Fields are often a blur, right? We see them when we go on hikes but we don’t really see them. When we take a moment to pause and reflect , our consciousness is flooded with the complexities of plant design.
Insect Life
Field Birds
You know if I had to choose an animal to be in my next life I’m pretty sure being a bird would be near the top of my list. I imagine it being peaceful seeing the world from above day in and day out. A fun challenge to find the right tree to call home and build a cozy nest. Now I am not sure I could get use to a diet of insects, but I certainly wouldn’t complain about the wild berry buffet. Flying from tree to tree I would. Oh, what a nice life it might be to be a bird.
Field Flowers
Focused on, these flowers often lack the attention grabbing attributes that garden flowers have been designed for. In a field though, their seeming random blooms make their presence a delightful aversion from the sea of greens and browns they are most often surrounded by.
Field Details
As is often said, “it’s in the details”. A fitting saying, with thoughts of field life in mind. A biodiverse jungle that is made sense of by examining the parts that make up the whole. Parts such as the simple shape of a blade of grass with a dew drop on it or the complex but structured web a spider weaves. These abstracts reminds us of all the details that go into making up the whole. That there is a system working in harmony and built on the details, but if disturbed can have a negative compounding affect on all.
